Meet Malaboom
Malaboom a filly by Queensland’s leading sire Spirit of Boom (Eureka Stud) out of the Red Ransom mare Malasun who is a Listed winning two year old when taking out the Listed MRC Blue Diamond Preview. She has produced 5 foals to race for 4 winners including Malaboom’s 7 time winning half-brother Hard to Say who is dual Group 3 placed, is a winner of almost $700k. Malaboom’s sire Spirit of Boom is a regular feature in the Australian Sire of 2YO winners, he is a dual Group 1 Winning Sprinter and proven Group 1 Stallion producing 512 runners for 375 winners including 22 Stakes winners such as Jonker (MVRC Manikato S., Group 1), Prince of Boom, Boomsara, De Sonic Boom, Outback Barbie, Ef Troop, All That Pizzazz, Get in the Spirit, Golden Boom, etc. He is the reigning Champion Sire of Queensland and features in the top 10 Sire (Winners), Top 15 Sire (Earnings) in Australia from just 5 crops to race. Malaboom was presented at the Magic Millions Sale by Eureka Stud, one of Queensland’s leading nurseries and proven producers of top class racehorses such as Group 1 winners Apache Chase won BRC Kingsford-Smith Cup Group 1, Pippie won MRC Oakleigh Plate Group 1 and the MVRC Moir Stakes Group 1, Tinto won BRC Queensland Oaks Group 1, Spirit of Boom won MRVC William Reid S Gr1 and the BRC Doomben Ten Thousand Group 1, Temple of Boom won ATC Galaxy Group 1.
We purchased Malaboom for $80k at the Magic Millions Sale 2022 with recent graduates of the sale including Imperatriz, Jacquinot (Stallion Widden Stud), Madame Pommery, Espiona, Yes Yes Yes (Stallion Coolmore Australia), Stay Inside (Stallion Newgate Farm) and Capitalist (Stallion Newgate Farm).
Malaboom was a cracking type a real speedy looking two year old. She was very elegant and extremely well balanced when she paraded. She would go on to showcase these attributes on the track when winning the Listed Calaway Gal Stakes at just her 2nd career start. Malaboom would add a further 4 Metropolitan level placings from just 7 career starts, across 3 different states racing in Victoria, NSW and Queensland showing her toughness and adaptability. She would go on to earn $185k on the track including bonus’s before selling in the sales ring for $180k, all up earning almost 5 times the amount her ownership group initially paid for her, we eagerly await her career as a broodmare, she was purchased to return home to Eureka Stud.
Malaboom was trained by Kozciusko winning trainer Matthew Dale in the state of the art facilities at Goulburn, NSW.
