Boston Rocks is a gelding by exciting young I Am Invincible sire Hellbent both standing at Yarraman Park, Hellbent is a young sire making a big name for himself. On the track Hellbent has an impressive CV a Group 1-winning sprinter.
Winner of seven races from 1000m to 1200m from two to five, and of more than $900,000 in prizemoney, including the 2018 Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) in near record time; second in the 2017 Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m), third in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate to Russian Revolution, Listed BR Crowley Stakes (1200m), Listed GH Mumm Stakes (1000m) and Listed Kensington Stakes (1000m).
He has already produced a Group 1 winner in a short career at stud thus far in Sir Rupert Clarke winner Magic Time as well as Group 2 winning two-year-old Kristilli and Group 3 winning mare Benedetta, a winner of 6 races and just shy $1million in earnings.
His dam Spurs and Sashes, who is by Flying Spur, has already produced Four runner for four winners of multiple races including the four time city winner Sonora.
Flying Spur’s remarkable effectiveness as a broodmare sire is evident in 76 stakes winners to date, featuring Group 1 winners Preferment, Delago Deluxe, Sebring, Speak Fondly, Headway, Grand Journey and Shillelagh. He has been a top 10 fixture on the Australian Broodmare Sires’ Premiership for the past nine seasons and is currently fourth, with $104 million and 10 stakes winners headed by Pierata (Stallion Yulong Stud). Boston Rocks was offered by one of Australasia’s leading nurseries in Segenhoe Stud who in recent years have produced Group 1 winners including Oohood, Manuel Eagle Way, Voodoo Lad, Merchant Navy and Kings Legacy (both stallions now at Coolmore Australia).
Boston Rocks was a standout individual hence why he was one of the top lots at the 2022 Inglis HTBA sale.
He was a strong athletic type that moved effortlessly, he had a lot of class and presence about him.
