Meet Hay Deer
This filly is by the fastest ever winner of the Gr.3 Breeders’ Plate (1000m), achieving a time of 56.45, quicker than previous winners Capitalist, Vancouver, Pierro, Sebring, Snitzel and Choisir, Not A Single Doubt’s Dubious will stand his first season at Aquis’ Queensland property at Canungra.
By the same sire as Aquis’ sensational Gr.1 Golden Slipper winner and Champion 2YO elect Farnan, Dubious’ mental toughness and sensational juvenile ability saw the colt finish second in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic of his year, just like his 14-time Gr.1 producing sire did.
Having commenced his juvenile campaign with a debut win in September, Dubious was still up in May, winning the Gr.2 Champagne Classic (1200m) at Doomben, a race won in the past by the exciting young, stakes-producing sire Brazen Beau, before finishing his 2YO campaign with a gutsy fifth, beaten a length and a half by the older horses in the Gr.1 Kingsford-Smith Cup (1300m) at weight for age.
