A gelding by the exciting young stallion Pierata (Yulong Stud) out of the So You Think (Coolmore Australia) mare Marli an unraced half sister to the James Harron owned Listed Breeders Plate winner Khan.
Marli has produced 1 winner from 1 runner to the track so far, the multiple winner Stick to your Guns.
His Sire Pierata was an elite sprinter defeating 39 individual Group 1 winners of 79 Group 1 races highlighted by Trapeze Artist (Stallion Widden Stud), Bivouac (Stallion Darley Australia), Brutal (Stallion Newgate), Exceedance (Stallion Vinery), multiple TAB Everest winners Nature Strip and Redzel throughout his career, Pierata’s defining moment came in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes during the Autumn carnival at Royal Randwick.
He was only outside of the top five twice in his 26 career starts which netted in excess of $5.8m, winning races at 2,3,4 and 5.
Marli is by the 10 time Group 1 winner So You Think who is not only doing a great job siring top class winners but as a broodmare sire too being the Dam sire of the Group 1 winning 2 year old Golden Slipper winner Fireburn who would later go on to win the Group 1 Inglis Sires Produce as well.
This colt was purchased from one of the leading nurseries in Queensland in Highgrove Stud producers of a number of top class racehorses throughout the years including Pierata’s very exciting first Stakes winner Coleman.
We purchased the colt from the Inglis Classic Sale which has forged a significant reputation over the years on the back of star graduates like Extreme Choice (Stallion Newgate Farm), I Am Invincible (Stallion Yarraman Park), Choisir, She Will Reign, Yankee Rose, Vow And Declare, Classique Legend, In Her Time, Brazen Beau, Hellbent (Stallion Yarraman Park) and Castelvecchio (Stallion Arrowfield) among many others. It is the only sale at which you could have bought the winners of each of The Everest, Golden Slipper, Melbourne Cup and Blue Diamond in the past 10 years.
The gelding was a real standout at the sale, he possessed a lot of quality and scope. He was a real athlete and effortlessly covered a lot of ground when he moved.
This colt is trained by Kozciusko winning trainer Matthew Dale in the state of the art facilities at Goulburn, NSW
