Meet Stern Reminder
A gelding by Winning Rupert (Grandview Stud) out of the Desert Prince mare Stage Beauty who is a half sister to the Group 2 winning mare I Am A Ripper.
Stage Beauty has produced 8 runners to the track for 7 winners of multiple races, a very impressive record including the half brother to this gelding Fox Fighter a winner of five career starts and a further 12 placings with earnings of over $450k. He is also a half brother to our two time winner Lyrical Beauty.
Winning Rupert was an exceptionally fast son of Written Tycoon (Yulong Stud), he won the Group 2 Moet Chandon Champagne Classic as a 2 year old.
Winning Rupert as a sire has many metropolitan winners such as Passeggiata, Iowna Merc and many more in fact it’s rare a Saturday goes by Winning Rupert doesn’t have a winner and is the sire of the four in a row Listed winner Seonee as well as Listed Stakes winner It’sarayday.
We purchased this horse from the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale which has forged a significant reputation over the years on the back of star graduates like -
Extreme Choice (Stallion Newgate Farm), I Am Invincible (Stallion Yarraman Park), Choisir, She Will Reign, Yankee Rose, Vow And Declare, Classique Legend, In Her Time, Brazen Beau, Hellbent (Stallion Yarraman Park) and Castelvecchio (Stallion Arrowfield) among many others.
It is the only sale at which you could have bought the winners of each of The Everest, Golden Slipper, Melbourne Cup and Blue Diamond in the past 10 years.
He was in the draft of Ashleigh Thoroughbreds a farm who have a very successful affiliation with Riversdale Farm who have since taking over Ashleigh Thoroughbred have a long standing history for producing top class racehorses year in year out.
Horses including Group 1 Champagne Stakes Winner & Group 1 Caulfield Guineas 2nd Captivant, now standing at Kia Ora Stud in the Hunter Valley, Captivant would go on to earn $1.2M in prize money throughout his career having contested no less than seven Group 1s in his 15 start career.
The Winning Rupert yearling presented at the sales very similar to his older sister Lyrical Beauty he was well muscled, had a great hip and shoulder. He was beautifully balanced and a great swagger when he paraded. A cracking last foal out of a mare who is a proven source of winners.
He is trained by one of the leading country trainers in Australia Cody Morgan in Tamworth, NSW. Cody offers state of the art facilities and top class communication that give the horse every chance.
