Based in Canberra, horse trainer Matthew Dale is a well-known and respected figure in the industry. Attention to detail is the cornerstone of Matthew’s strategy. Matthew obtained his own licence in the 2002–03 season while working with a number of elite stables, including those of well-known trainers Gai Waterhouse and John O’Shea.
Having won stakes in four states, Matthew has achieved unimaginable achievement. He also routinely succeeds in the Sydney and Melbourne horse races, where his horses compete on a regular basis.
With a boutique stable of about 30 horses at his Canberra property and up to 10 horses at Moruya, Matthew has established profitable operations in the ACT. He offers access to the beach, river, and heated swimming pool in addition to walking, massage, and equestrian treadmills. To guarantee his horses receive the best care, attention, and results, he also works with skilled farriers, veterinarians, and professional equine chiropractors.
His training philosophy is based on the idea that every horse deserves the best opportunity to reach its full potential when given the proper care. Taking care of each horse’s general health and well-being is crucial to Matthew’s accomplished history. In Matthew’s opinion, a sound horse is a fast horse when they have the chance to be active, healthy, and fit thoroughbreds.
