TL;DR
Key takeaways
- A lucky start in racing. Ricky says his father bought a 10 percent share in a Starcraft colt who became Star Witness, and the Blue Diamond win sparked his own interest, before a trip to Royal Ascot
- A farm close to Sydney. B2B chose the Southern Highlands because it is one hour door to door from the family's Sydney homes, and the farm's purpose is to breed and spell horses
- Fewer, better mares. Ricky says B2B has no mares on the Southern Highlands farm now and about 14 in the Hunter Valley, down from about 38, because the middle of the market is hard
- How B2B buys yearlings. Ricky's father picks 50 to 70 yearlings from the Magic Millions catalogue, Ricky culls the list at the sale, and he favours proven stallions and horses with scope
- Trials are not the result. Sean and Ricky agree that trial days are good exposure, but results come on race day. Ricky says Lazzura ran last in her trial and there is no prize money in trials
- 160
- acres in the Southern Highlands, as Sean puts it
- 1 hour
- door to door from Sydney
- About 14
- mares now, down from about 38 10%

0:00 Barrier trials at Royal Randwick
Sean 0:00 We're here for episode 16 of Off N Racing and we've got a special guest today. We're here at Royal Randwick where we're here today for the official two-year-old barrier trials. It's the first set of two-year-old barrier trials in Sydney and it was a great day, great morning. Hectic but without further ado, Ricky from B2B. Thanks for having me, Sean. Thanks for coming on, mate. Unreal. Big fan. How was today, mate? How was the season?
Ricky Surace 0:29 Good, yeah, we saw some really nice horses. Always great to see all these horses we've either missed out on buying or tried to buy or, you know, we just looked at as yearlings. So, it's always exciting to see what shows up early and see what will progress on to the first races.
0:46 No Woman No Cry, the colt they share
Sean 0:46 Yep. And our cult, mate, we have a horse together, No Woman No Cry. Ricky bred him at their farm B2B Thoroughbreds. So, go and check them out. We purchased him at the Magic Millions in January. Beautiful cult. I love this animal. Just as an animal, he's just got one of the best demeanors, doesn't he?
Ricky Surace 1:07 He does. Very good-looking horse. Big stride on him and he's an absolute tough bugger but he wouldn't, you could put your kids in there in a box with him. Yeah, 100%. You could put a newborn baby in there and he wouldn't touch him. And he trialed good, didn't he? Yeah, he did. He was really strong late, wasn't he?
Sean 1:23 Yep. We sort of, he trialed exactly what we thought, didn't we? Like, he'll get, he'll get what, 14, 16, that's going to be his distance.
Ricky Surace 1:32 You think so. You think so. Out of a sham express mare, microphones tend to go over a little bit of distance but for an 800 metre trial, he was steaming home. There's a lot to look forward to, that's for sure.
Sean 1:42 I thought it was interesting how sharp he was. I didn't expect him to be that close to the bunny but then naturally he got out sprinted, didn't he? And then his last 75, Rachel King said that that was his best work.
Ricky Surace 1:54 Yeah, and to the eye, it looked exactly like that. But yeah, he showed a lot of gate speed but obviously being from the Gay Waterhouse and Adrian Botstable, you expect that. They educate them very well. He was straight as a gun barrel. And yeah, that last 100 was really good, wasn't it? Like, through the line, 1200, 1400. Bring it on. Yeah.
Sean 2:12 But we spoke to, we spoke to Adrian together and what, he'll probably come home now for what, probably six weeks or so and we'll focus on, we'll get all these thousand metre two-year-old races out of the way and it's just a horse with a lot of scope so I think he'll come home now for a break.
Ricky Surace 2:27 For the best, for sure. He'll be a beast in the autumn.
2:30 Star Witness and how the family got into racing
Sean 2:30 So, for the audience mate, what got you interested in horse racing?
Ricky Surace 2:34 So, when I was younger, my father, Ricardo, Ricky, same thing, he purchased a 10% share in a Starcraft cult and it was the first crop of Starcrafts. It was 150 grand yearling. Daniel Bryan purchased it. It was out of a mare called Leonie Chiara and that horse turned out to be Star Witness. So, you know, talking about luck and racing.
Sean 3:02 Pretty arsy there.
Ricky Surace 3:03 Yeah, it is. No, exactly. And we still laugh about it now.
Sean 3:06 I think I've heard of him.
Ricky Surace 3:07 Yeah, you might have. Some people probably haven't. But, yeah, and obviously having a good horse that early on, I didn't understand because I was so young. I was eight years old at the time. But, you know, he won his first race and I remember Dad coming home saying, oh, I think we've got a good horse. And, you know, oh, that's cool. That's cool. No one, like, really cared. We weren't into it. But then he won the Blue Diamond and that was when my ears pricked. I saw everyone, you know, at Caulfield that day, the jockey, all the owners really excited and my family really happy. So, that was what really sparked my interest. And once that happens and you start going to those races, it's all over. Yeah, it's all over. But he took us to Royal Ascot, which I think at the time I was nine, nine or ten. And being, you know, a foot away from the Queen, you know, watching everything, having your own horse there with mates that you've made forever. It's just phenomenal.
Sean 4:02 Was your dad thinking, how easy is this?
Ricky Surace 4:05 Well, yeah, I guarantee you if that didn't happen, like, we definitely would not be in this industry. That's for sure, because it can chew people up and spin them out. But very arsey. Yeah. But you know what, there's always a method to the madness. There is. Yeah.
Sean 4:18 Yeah, but at the end of the day, you've still got to invest. Like, what was he, what year are we talking?
Ricky Surace 4:25 2008 yearling sales? 2009?
4:26 The Southern Highlands farm and why they bought it
Sean 4:26 You know, and what was he, 150? Yep. It's not, you know, it's a fair bit of money back then. Absolutely. So, no, good on him. Still is. Yeah. Still is. True. True. So, your farm looks just stunning. 160 acres in the Southern Highlands. First of all, why did you choose that location and how do you operate it? What's the purpose of the farm? So, you can tell the audience. Absolutely.
Ricky Surace 4:54 So, the purpose, well, the reason why we chose the Southern Highlands is because we live in the suburbs in Sydney. So, it's very, very close. You know, you're not travelling four hours to the Hunter Valley or whatever. You're travelling one hour, door to door. You know, we can, you know, my family, they're busy. You know, they've got other businesses. So, for them, they can make a day trip out of it. They don't need to spend, you know, two days on the road. And it's a great location. It's, you know, you've got to think of it as a business decision. It's a good area for capital gains. Yeah. It's got phenomenal pastures. It's basically virgin horse land, we call it. Plenty of rain. A lot of rain. Too much. But lots of sunshine. Horses grow out well. It's a very, it's a very similar growing sort of environment to New Zealand. You get really good bone under them, especially being in that cold weather. But, yeah, and the purpose of our operation is to breed and spell really, really nice horses or, you know, try to breed a nice horse. You know, and probably the reason why we sort of bought our own farm is probably a bit further on to the Star Witness story. We went, obviously, Star Witness became a stallion. You know, we owned a bit of the horse. So, we wanted mares to support him. We didn't have them. So, we went and started buying, you know, mares for, you know, five grand, you know, as everyone does when they start. Yeah. And then we slowly realised after about 20 of them that it's not viable. Like, you know, the amount of fees you're paying, you know, at farms for mares that aren't worth it get up considerably. So, then we got rid of all of them and we started buying good mares. You know, we started going to America. We started, you know, buying race fillies, yearlings, and keeping the best ones with the best pedigrees. And we got up to about 15 or 20 and they were all at New Haven Park who did a phenomenal job. And then we thought, you know, this is what we do. We love it. Let's just have a crack. Yep. Have a crack. And, yeah, that's how it started. Cool.
6:59 Mares in the Hunter Valley and a spelling farm
Sean 6:59 So, how many brood mares currently do you have at the farm, would you say?
Ricky Surace 7:03 So, we actually have no brood mares at the farm. Yep. So, a bit of a plot twist, but most of them are up in the Hunter Valley. Yep. And we had about 38 and we're down to about 14 now. 14. 14 good mares. You know, we just want to have fun. Have fun. You know, it's very hard even nowadays. You know, you can't have that middle, lower to middle of the range anymore. You need to have that top grade mare. And that's all we have left. And, yeah, so they're all up in the Hunter Valley, but we have all our spellers. Yep. Which is what we're doing. You know, we have big open fields to spell horses and that's sort of what we're passionate about. Yep. So, yeah.
7:44 B2B highlights and the Dirty Work yearlings
Sean 7:44 So, you breed and sell thorough brands. Yep. What would be a highlight so far for B2B?
Ricky Surace 7:53 This year or in general? Overall. It's funny. We always find the horses that are least expensive turn out to be the best ones. Yeah. In our first year, we had this horse. It was a capitalist out of a really good mare called Scarlet Billow. She was a group three winner. And he was called Glen Eagles. Beautiful horse. First year of capitalist. If it was the next year, he made some half million. Next year, he would have made probably double that. Yep. But he was probably the horse that I was probably most attached to. I loved him. Loved him. And honestly, I did cry after we sold him. But just watching him go up and be a really good racehorse. You know, he placed in a group two at three and he ran second. He was one of the favorites for the Coolmore. Then he died. Yeah. You know, so all of a sudden I was happy. He was on his upward spiral. Then I was back down, you know. But he was, of horses we've sold, he's definitely the highlight. Yeah. Another filly that we really, really liked this year was a dirty work filly. We sold it Easter for $2.60 out of a mare called Skaggarag. Just, you know, there's horses that have that aura about them.
Sean 8:59 I fell on a heap of dirty works this year. Good types. I just found they were just beautifully balanced. Yeah. Would you say that? Yeah. I don't know why I fell on them. And like at the end of the day, you can only like what you like. But it was at least a dozen this year. And I was underbidder on three. Yeah, right. But you could just sit eggs on their back and they could just walk. And I reckon they just would have stayed there. Yeah.
Ricky Surace 9:23 Like if you look at dirty work physically, he's a more compact version of Rooden Tycoon. Yeah, I agree. And his yearling showed that. And they're massive movers. And he's got as good a chance as any. Yeah. We sold a really nice filly at Easter. Sharp. And, you know, she was just a beautiful filly. You know, just had the best attitude about her. But when she knew what she wanted. Feed time, you do not get in her way. If she's running, get her out of her way. Like very, very fast. So, yeah, definitely her as well. Yeah.
9:51 How B2B selects yearlings and stallions
Sean 9:51 So, when buying for yourself personally, for B2B, like yearlings, what do you look for for our listeners? Do you look at pedigrees? Do you look at confirmations? What do you look for?
Ricky Surace 10:04 Well, so it's a big process. So, often Ricky Senior, my dad, he'll go through the whole book and he'll identify, you know, 50, 60, 70 yearlings in the Magic Millions catalogue that he likes on pedigree or mating or whatever. He'll give me that list. I'll go up to the Hunter Valley. Obviously, I'll look at everything anyway, but obviously you pay a little bit more attention to those sort of horses. And you basically cull all the stuff you don't want. That's sort of the way I look at it. And then once we get up there, you know, we have a real good look at it. I love a, firstly, I love a good stallion. You know, I try to stick more to proven. Just because if you're buying expensive horses, you want to give them the best chance and often.
Sean 10:44 Are you open to first year, like first season size?
Ricky Surace 10:49 To an extent. Yeah. I love breeding to them.
Sean 10:51 It'll close your way, like it's got to be a proper athlete. Yeah.
Ricky Surace 10:53 Like this year we fell on a few Farnans for sure. But we just keep resorting back to good filly size. Snitzel, Zooster, I'm Invincible. You know, just it does, it spreads your risk. But, you know, I love a horse with a big action. Love a horse that has scope. Not really out there to buy a horse that's going to be here. In the first trial. But a horse that's got longevity. I still can't believe you. I fell a deer. Oh mate, unbelievable.
11:23 How the shared colt handled trial day
Sean 11:23 I just, still, excuse me. It still shocks me because he's a horse that, for me, has so much scope. Yeah. And he'll get, you know, 14 or a mile. I think just mentally that's what got him here. Like physically he probably shouldn't have been here. Yeah. But mentally just a pro. Yeah, 100%.
Ricky Surace 11:42 His temperament was unbelievable. He did not turn a hair. At all. Yeah.
Sean 11:45 And some, you know, Colts were, you know, a few of them did turn it on today. But anyway, he didn't care.
Ricky Surace 11:50 Yeah, no, it got a bit scary there for a few trials. But yeah, no, he's a, hopefully. Hey. We can dream. We can dream.
Sean 11:57 So we'll just go JJ, Sires, or is it Sires? And JJ, whatever way it is.
Ricky Surace 12:02 If we have to win the champagne here.
Sean 12:04 Yeah, we'll do that first. We have to. And then, is it the JJ first? And then we go Sires. And then we might sell him for, what, 20 million? Yeah.
Ricky Surace 12:11 It's free to dream, guys. It's always free to dream.
12:14 B2B's current racehorses
Sean 12:14 So you've invested heavily in racehorses. Can you give some listeners, this will come out. By the time this comes out, it's sort of like two to three weeks. Yeah. So they might miss a few tips if you give them tips. A few of the good race fillies we spoke about. What's some current horses you can mention at the moment? Yep.
Ricky Surace 12:33 So our star at the moment is a filly called Lazura. She's a nice central filly we bought off.
Sean 12:38 She knocked us off in the woodlands. Sorry, man. We ran second to it. And I thought it was funny.
Ricky Surace 12:44 You guys were in front before and after the line as well. Oh, man.
Sean 12:47 But that's the game. Like, at the end of the day. You'll get us. Yeah, she's a beautiful filly. She's beautiful.
Ricky Surace 12:54 Long way to go. Yeah. Real long way to go. Let's go pay. Yeah. She, even just watching a parade here on Saturday, she's so far behind them. Yeah. Like, physically, mentally, she's very good. She's very tough. But she's only, she finished two lengths off Audem Glow, half a length off Manal. Crazy. This Lazura, she has that much improvement in her. She's one for the Audem, I think.
Sean 13:15 But now it's a stakes winner. And did she run third in a group three?
Ricky Surace 13:18 She ran third in a group two in the Furious. And then she ran fourth on the weekend. On the weekend. Like, it's… It's hard to get horses like that. Mate, it's exciting.
Sean 13:27 But she's still got so much improvement as well.
Ricky Surace 13:30 That's the exciting thing. But you know what? In a sense as well, she's already won that stakes race. Yeah. Got in the black tie. So we can sort of enjoy it. Job done. Tick, tick, tick. That doesn't happen often. No.
Sean 13:42 Everything else is a bonus. Exactly. Exactly.
Ricky Surace 13:45 You know, and that's sort of the way you have to look at it. Yeah. One, so you don't get annoyed if you're running fifth in a group two, which is unbelievable.
Sean 13:50 And even though it was at Scone, it's still a Sydney Metro stakes win. It's still, you know, that's a thing.
Ricky Surace 13:57 And the amount of critics she had to silence saying she beat a bunch of bad horses in a stage.
Sean 14:04 Well, our horses, you know, at the end of the day, we beat them by 3.8 to what? Back to third. So we got the… Ours didn't come out. She's in the paddock now. But I think, to be fair, yours has so much more scope anyway. But at the end of it, who cares what the critics say? No one cares. It doesn't say it on the pedigree page. Yeah, I agree. One's got black.
Ricky Surace 14:25 Black type race is very hard. Exactly right.
Sean 14:28 And so that's that filly.
Ricky Surace 14:29 Yeah, so she's good. We have…
Sean 14:32 I saw a beautiful one at Canterbury the other day.
Ricky Surace 14:34 Yeah, she's a nice filly.
Sean 14:36 Should have won.
Ricky Surace 14:38 Hopefully she's already won by the time this race comes out.
Sean 14:41 Are we not going to mention it? No? Yeah, we will. Oh, yeah.
Ricky Surace 14:44 Her name's Delicious. She's another Stintzel filly. We love our Stintzel fillies. She ran second the other day at Canterbury. Probably should have won. Should have won. But you'll see her, hopefully here on Everest Day, in the Reginald Allen. I'm just going to say it out now. My family's not going to like me saying this. But I reckon she's better than Lazura. Yeah.
Sean 15:05 Well, I think as a physical, she's more there now than her, isn't she? Oh, yeah. Big thing. Big trauma. Yeah.
Ricky Surace 15:12 She'll be about 16.2 and about 550 kilos.
Sean 15:16 I was impressed that she got around Canterbury that well, to be fair. Yeah. Same. Like, if that was Rosehill, she wins. Oh, for sure. For sure.
Ricky Surace 15:24 And just, you know, Canterbury's a very hard track. You guys obviously had that great winner. Congratulations. Boston Rocks.
Sean 15:31 Yeah, but that's Downingrove. From a Saturday to a Wednesday, he should have got the job done. Yeah, for sure. But with your horse, like, as a physical, I think she went, like, yes, she should have won. But she went exceptional for that track. She did.
Ricky Surace 15:46 So, she's very exciting. Hopefully, she can continue on towards 1,000 guineas. Yep. Not trying to get too far ahead of ourselves. Obviously, we ran second in a maiden at Canterbury. But she looks like she's got the right form. She ran second to clean energy. Yep. Let him split her and Lady Shenandoah. Lady Shenandoah's going to line up in a flight. Yep. So, she's certainly a…
Sean 16:07 She's thereabouts. Yeah. Yeah, for sure.
Ricky Surace 16:09 And then I'll give you another one that hasn't really raced. It's another snitzel filly.
Sean 16:16 Doing it tough here.
Ricky Surace 16:18 Yeah, no, there's one we actually bred. Her name's Rybikina. She's a half to Ring-a-Ding-Ding. Another horse we raced. Really? Yeah, another horse we raced. I love to Ring-a-Ding-Ding.
Sean 16:26 By memory, that horse always got back and just… Yeah. Yep. Excuse me. Just, yeah. Was Johnny Allen always on that? Yes, he was. I remember the horse. Very good, yeah.
Ricky Surace 16:36 So, he was a great horse. So, we went and brought… We actually brought the mother, maybe I, before he even raced. Because we knew he had something there. Yeah. And it took us a while, but we got it out of him. But he was an unbelievable horse. But this is the half-sister. Very same. Very similar. Bit bigger than him. Bit strong. Yeah. She's had two starts. She ran second at Canterbury, over 12.50 first up. And then she had enough. Yeah. She ran fourth, again, at Canterbury, where… Just bad track. You can get a bad track there. Yeah. But she's going to get over distance. She's certainly one to keep an eye out of, that we think she can be all right. Put on 60 kilos in a four-week break, with us not even really feeding her. Oh, right. Just strong. So, yeah. Those are probably our three of the nicer horses we have. Yeah. We're very lucky.
17:25 The race Ricky most wants to win
Sean 17:25 And if you could win a race, what race would you want to win, out of any race? Golden Slipper. Golden Slipper. Love it.
Ricky Surace 17:34 Always been interested in two-odd racing. Star witness missed out. But hopefully one day. Hopefully one day. Just such a… There's an aura around two-odd racing. Especially the Golden Slipper.
Sean 17:44 What I don't understand is, like, Lady of Camelot. There's all these keyboard warriors, right? Like, she's won a Slipper at two. And whether she has or has not, I don't have the inciting for her come back as well or not. At the end of the day, three-year-olds. Some mature, some don't. I've never seen her as a physical. But all that aside, job's done. She's worth good money. She's a Golden Slipper winner. Yep. Like, what else does she have to do? Nothing. Nothing.
Ricky Surace 18:15 If I want a Golden Slipper, I'm happy for the horse to never. Yeah, exactly. I'm happy for the horse to never win another race. 100%. Yeah. Like, it's crazy.
Sean 18:23 But I think they just don't understand how hard it is to get that. Like, it's so hard.
Ricky Surace 18:30 It's a needle in a bunch of needles. Yeah. That's literally the way it is.
18:33 Stallions and the weanling sales
Sean 18:33 It literally is. We've touched base about the stallions. You like the Peruvian stallions. I've got a note here. You said to sort, you believe, is one of the best sires for 40 grand or under. Why is that? What's your opinion?
Ricky Surace 18:49 Look, it's very easy to say to sort after they've come out. But firstly, as a physical, he's beautiful. He's from a sire line that consistently produced good sons. Obviously, I'm Vince Wolf, Brazenbo. He's the first son by Brazenbo. I think he is certainly one that is going to go from strength to strength. And he's only 40 grand. You know, and to be fair, I know some of the guys at Emirates. So, the owner, I speak to him a bit. And they will be the first ones to admit that they were the ones to support him. And the results have been phenomenal. Now, everyone else in Australia is jumping on. What's he going to be in four years' time?
Sean 19:37 I'm excited to see. Again, we probably won't be able to afford one now. But I'm excited. I think they're going to be through the roof of the Yelling sales next year. Yep.
Ricky Surace 19:46 They're not going to be easy to buy. Only a select few.
Sean 19:48 It's one of those stallions that you think, I can't believe. You know when Vinny was, what, 7,700 back in the day? Yeah. It's one of those things. God, remember you could get one of those for like 30 grand? Yeah.
Ricky Surace 20:01 It was actually one year we bought three I'm Invincibles. They were all stakes winners, stakes placed. Cost 60, 80, and 100 grand back in 2014.
Sean 20:09 Unless they've got major, major issues, you're not doing that. Yeah, no way. You just can't. I Am Unstoppable, for example. That's publicly known, obviously had issues. And they've got a result out of it for 60 grand. And that's some result. Wow. That's how you… Love it.
Ricky Surace 20:25 He's so good at selling. Home Affairs. You're a fan. Yeah. Yeah, really impressed, actually. They're going to be hot property. Yep. I can really only judge what I've seen at the Weanling sales. I haven't gone out and really seen many. They blew my mind. Oh, wow. And they're at Weanling sales. You usually don't get the best ones there. Yep. And the mares that have been bred to him.
Sean 20:46 Again, probably off my list, but I'm sure a few will go on Ricky's. Maybe.
Ricky Surace 20:49 You know what? If there was a first season, so we'd consider it'll be Home Affairs. It will be. By Vinny. Yep.
Sean 20:56 Dual Group 1 winner. Dual Group 1 winner. Coolmore. Won a Coolmore. Yep.
Ricky Surace 21:00 Bred to some of the best mares. They all can't make a million dollars. Yep.
Sean 21:03 But him as a yearling, I don't think. I remember seeing him as a yearling. Could be wrong, but he probably looked like a 550 kilos, brute, stallion head. Like, one of the best yearlings I've seen. I agree.
Ricky Surace 21:17 If it wasn't during the COVID year, he would have made triple. Easily. Yeah. Red at a good farm.
Sean 21:23 1-1-1-2. I still can't believe he made under that. Yeah. As a physical. Tell you what, though. Interesting, though.
Ricky Surace 21:31 Probably more of a discussion point, but Vinny Coles. Yep. Have been a little bit disappointing. He's been one of the better ones, which I think says something. Yep. He, his foals. Home Affairs. I don't think I've, in the last, ever since I've been in the industry, I've seen better foals. Personally.
Sean 21:49 Yeah, like at the Weanling sales, they blew me away. And naturally, the money spoke, like they were making good money. Yep. But, very strong, big shoulder, big hip, deep girth. But they carried it, though. They weren't blocking. Like, they moved like an athlete, which just blew my mind. Like, I'm just keen to see the top. I think they're going to make big money. I agree. Yep.
Ricky Surace 22:15 There's every reason why they should. And his fillies, you never know. If they look big and strong, they'll be very fun to pull foals out of. Obviously, thinking a bit far ahead, but no, 100%, yeah. Home Affairs. Nice horse. Yep.
22:28 The next three years, and trial days
Sean 22:28 B2B Thoroughbreds, for the listeners, where do you see yourself, let's be realistic, in the next three years? Three years.
Ricky Surace 22:36 Hopefully still going. No, look, just enjoying it. Yeah. If you don't enjoy it, then you've got to get out. It's pretty simple. We enjoy what we do. We love racing horses. We love breeding horses. We love selling horses to an extent. It does get a little bit more tricky. But, you know, we just want to breed a good horse. We want to be here at Ram. We've got a Saturday and enjoying ourselves. That's the main thing. And just buying more yearlings and just having a crack. Having a crack. You know?
Sean 23:04 And just, you know, like I want to say for the listeners, like winning trials is great, but at the end of the day, everything's done on the racetrack race day, isn't it? Like, that's the results. Yeah. Like today, yeah, we all get excited. Your horse goes out and wins and this and that, like trial days. And it's good exposure for social media, but at the end of the day, it matters on race day. 100%? Yep.
Ricky Surace 23:27 100% like Lazura. She ran last in her trial, under the pump. Never know.
Sean 23:33 Yeah, one of our best. Like that 28-year-old Kirill boy, you know? I think I was telling you about it. Winner of 20 races, 12 at group and stakes place. Tari, he got beat 15.1 in his first trial. Oh, God, yeah. It just, it doesn't matter. Good race horses just show up. Yeah.
Ricky Surace 23:51 No prize money in trials.
23:53 Ricky's experience sharing a horse with Kurrinda
Sean 23:53 No prize money in trials. And for our listeners, and just, again, this isn't prep, so I'll just be honest, like, it's probably, or it is your first experience being a part, a horse together. No woman, no cry. Why would you recommend Kurrinda Bloodstock?
Ricky Surace 24:09 Well, one, because they bought the horse off us. No, I'm very, I'll be honest, like, not going to sugarcoat anything. It's been unreal. Yep. Updates twice a week, video and audio. You get to listen to Sean's voice. Unfortunately. But, no, it's been great. I know exactly where the horse is. You guys use great breakers. Got a great spelling farm. Yep. I trust the horse being with you guys, which is a big thing. And you guys are just great. You know, you're just very easy. You can communicate whenever I want. You know, as soon as you send the invoice, we pay it and we're happy to do it.
Sean 24:51 No, I really appreciate it.
Ricky Surace 24:52 So, if you want to buy a share, come to Kurrinda Bloodstock if you like the horse because they will give you the best experience. We're here at Ramwick. Hopefully not for the last time. But, yeah, 100%. Definitely recommend it. Five stars.
Sean 25:06 And if you're at the sales, guys, a lot of our listeners go to the sales, whether it be Inglis, Magic Millions, whatever. Go and check out B2B. You'll see Ricky there. He's the big boss there. And just say g'day. Introduce yourself. And don't be scared. Just go up and introduce us. It's questions. No, there's no silly questions there. And the only thing is I've just found out one of the horses I was underbitter on at Magic Millions. You said it goes all right with Tony Golland. Yeah.
Ricky Surace 25:33 We won't say it. I don't have an inside source here. No insights.
Sean 25:38 But it goes all right. No comment. I'm not going to say what horse it is. Yeah, no. Apparently it does. Apparently it does. Yeah. Apparently it does. But thanks so much for coming on the potty, mate. And we'll get you on maybe in January up at the Magic Millions as well. Done. Cool. Sounds good. Thank you so much. Thanks, mate. Appreciate it.
