Blue Diamond Stakes:
The Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes is one of the premier horse races in Australia, particularly significant as it marks the first Group 1 race of the year for two-year-olds. Held at Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne, it serves as a pivotal moment in the racing season, setting the stage for emerging talent in the world of horse racing. The race carries substantial importance not only for the racing community but also for the breeding industry, as it showcases promising young bloodlines and potential future champions.
Blue Diamond Stakes 2024:
Trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott will look to continue their dominance in the two-year-old ranks in Saturday’s $2 million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield.
The stable has accepted with impressive first-up winner Lady Of Camelot and Adam Hyeronimus will make the trip down to ride.
Peter and Paul Snowden have three in the race with High Octane, Bodyguard and Fearless among the acceptors.
The Matt Laurie stable and Ben Melham are extremely confident with their star colt Coleman who galloped at Caulfield on Tuesday morning.
Blue Diamond Stakes Barrier Draw Winners:
Bodyguard and Coleman have drawn nicely which should allow them to get a good run in transit right on the speed. Fillies Eneeza and Lady Of Camelot have also drawn low which should give them every chance. High Octane won’t get boxed in like last time from gate 10 (gate 9 if the emergencies come out), and his draw will allow him to settle not too far off the pace, potentially three wide with cover.
Stay Focused’s task has become extremely difficult with his wide draw, especially as most of the favoured runners have drawn well. Rue De Royale and Spywire have drawn the two outside barriers and will need everything to go their way to figure in the finish in this years Blue Diamond Stakes.
$4.60 COLEMAN; $5 Bodyguard; $6 Lady Of Camelot; $6.50 High Octane; $9.50 Eneeza; $19 Stay Focused, Hayasugi, Matisse; $21 Traffic Warden, Kuroyanagi; $26 Fearless; $31 Spywire; $61 Rue De Royale, Dublin Down; $71 In Her Eyes; $81 Zestiman; $101 Flyer; $151 Altermatum
(*TAB fixed odds at 1.40pm Tuesday*)

Castelvecchio x Rakitino Filly
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVVvCKS583w
This Filly is by Arrowfield Stud’s exciting young stallion Castelvecchio, a multiple Group 1 winner on the track. He was an excellent winner of the Inglis Millennium before going on to win the Group 1 Champagne Stakes, he would go on to even greater heights in his 3yo season winning the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas before running 2nd in the Cox Plate as a 3yo at weight
for age.
Rakitino is by champion sire Not A Single Doubt, a winner herself a 1200m she possessed plenty of speed and is a ½ sister to the 2yo winning stakes placed Zellindi. This Filly reminded us an awful lot of her dam sire Not A Single Doubt, she was well put together, a great shape, well balanced, athletic and very much in the mould of what he threw throughout his career at stud.
The Filly was presented at the Inglis Classic Sale by Rheinwood Pastoral, in recent times Rheinwood have produced the highly exciting colt Libertad a winner of the Group 3 Widden Kindergarten Stakes at 2 and the Group 3 San Domenico (just like Anders) highlighting their ability to produce top class racehorses to compete at the highest level.
She will be trained by David Pfieffer at Warwick Farm, Sydney that will see her have every opportunity. This Filly is eligible for the lucrative Inglis race series and BOBS bonus scheme

This Colt was a real standout for us at the sale from the moment we laid eyes on him we knew we were bringing him home. He ticked a lot of boxes for us he moved effortlessly, is so well balanced and oozed class. Every time we saw him he just came out and paraded like the utmost professional.

related being a 1/2 sister to the Group 3 winner Quick Feet.
This Filly is a proper athlete very forward and precocious type, she is a great size for a first foal, well put together but it was her walk that we fell in love with. She was one of the best
moving horses we have seen this year and one that we were not leaving the sale without.
She was present at the Inglis Classic sale by Riversdale Farm as agent for the great Makybe Stud, a farm that needs no introduction having produced the 3 time winning Melbourne Cup

Kindergarten Stakes at 2 and the Group 3 San Domenico (just like Anders) highlighting their ability to produce top class racehorses to compete at the highest level.
