Winx first foal, a filly by Pierro, is set to be sold at Inglis’ Easter Yearling Sale in Sydney, and owners are thrilled with her resemblance to the legendary mare Winx.
Anticipation surrounds the sale of the Winx Filly, with expectations of record-breaking bids that could surpass previous milestones.
Part-owner of Winx Peter Tighe expressed excitement, noting the striking similarities between the filly and her mother.
Observations suggest the foal has inherited Winx traits and characteristics, promising potential on the racetrack.
Inglis CEO Sebastian Hutch acknowledged the global interest in the Winx filly but expressed hope she remains in Australia for racing.
Bred by Coolmore, the Pierro x Winx filly is Lot 391 and will go under the hammer on April 8.
Her sale marks an exciting chapter for Winx legacy, with enthusiasts eagerly awaiting her future endeavours.
Winx little filly could be the most expensive yearling sold anywhere in the world next year.
The owners of all-time great racehorse Winx have made the surprising decision to sell the mare’s first foal at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale on April 7-8.
Breeding experts have estimated Winx daughter, who is by champion sire Pierro, could break the Australian yearling record price of $5 million set a decade ago for a half-brother to the mighty Black Caviar that was also sold at the Easter auction.
Winx Record:
Winx won her third consecutive Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick to finish her illustrious career with a 33rd straight win, a record 25th Group One victory and nearly $19 million in prize money.
Winx was ridden by Hugh Bowman and trained by Chris Waller.
