New SW Star Turn -Megastar Heart All Heart in Oxlade Stakes
The 2023 NZB Ready To Run Sale topper by Star Turn, Megastar Heart, made another repayment when opening his stakes account with an incredibly courageous performance in Saturday’s Listed SEN Oxlade Stakes (1300m) at Eagle Farm.
A sea of red and yellow as the son of Star Turn Megastar Heart gets the win.
James McDonald travelled four wide the trip on the son of Star Turn, who refused to yield to the I Am Invincible colt Embassy for a hard-fought win by a head.
The winner’s stablemate Depth Of Character(Deep Field) was two and a quarter lengths back in third behind the son of Star Turn.
Sensationally backed, Megastar Heart the son of Star Turn advances his record to two wins and a second from four starts for Annabel Neasham, who said she is hopeful the colt will remain in Australia.
“He’s a beautiful colt by Star Turn, and I just have to persuade his owner to keep him in Australia for another year before whisking him off to Hong Kong,” Neasham said.
“The Son of Star Turn still quite green, and we thought there’d be something to follow up. We left it up to James and he felt there was not enough speed to go back so he conceded to being three-wide if he had to be and still managed to look like he’d tuck in and get a bit of cover.
“I think he’s a really nice colt, the son of Star Turn and he’ll be better again next year. He’s just very natural. I’ll be interested to see what James says because he’s obviously ridden a lot of the nice ones.
“I’d say this is well up there with one of the nicest two-year-olds I’ve had.”
Bred by Dr Ian Duckworth and consigned by Fairview Park Stud to the 2023 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Megastar Heart, the son of Star Turn was a $120,000 purchase for Solari Bloodstock.

Megastar Heart is the eighth stakes-winner for Star Turn, who stands for the forthcoming season at Vinery Stud for $27,500.

Star turn another exciting 2yo
Star Ambition is a clone of his sire Star Turn and looked more like a stallion letting down for the season than a 2-year-old making his career debut over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast.
Ridden by James Orman for Toby Edmonds, the odds-on favourite was made to work to find the lead from an outside barrier but found enough down the straight to repel the challenge of the talented Spirit Of Boom gelding King Spirit by a half-length.
Gerry Harvey bred the winner by Star Turn and runner-up and came through the Baramul Stud draft at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Though the margin was narrow, Toby Edmonds is confident Star Ambition by Star Turn has better days ahead.
“He paraded quite big and gross, and it’s always the sixty-four million dollar question how fit you have them first up,” Edmonds said.
“He comes off a fairly quick preparation. He has had a couple of trials with not much work between.
Drawing that barrier was a bit of a worry, and we had to use him a lot. He has plenty of speed, but drawing soft would have been better.
“He is my best two-year-old. The season has not been that great, but we have won a few 2-year-old races.
“He is a horse that could progress and will improve quite sharply. “
Star Ambition a $140,000 Magic Millions yearling by Star Turn.
The strapping chestnut by Star Turn is the second winner from as many to race for the Big Brown (USA) mare Divergence.
The winner of two and placed seven times in a 17-start career, Divergence has a yearling filly by Pariah that failed to make her $15,000 reserve at the Adelaide Magic Millions.
After foaling an Exceedance colt last spring, Divergence revisited Star Turn.
The Vinery Stud stallion enjoyed a wonderful weekend with his 2-year-old after Megastar Heart captured the Listed Oxlade Stakes at Eagle Farm.
