Ready To Rush: Randwick Victory In 2026

There are victories that simply add another win to a horse’s record, and then there are victories that change the trajectory of a career.

For Ready To Rush, her outstanding victory in the TAB Highway Handicap at Royal Randwick was unquestionably the latter.

Stepping onto one of Australia’s biggest racing stages, the talented mare announced herself as a horse with genuine metropolitan ability, producing a courageous performance to defeat a quality Highway field and improve her remarkable record to three wins and a second from just four career starts.

For her owners at Kurrinda Bloodstock Syndications, the win represented far more than another Saturday success. It was the reward for years of patience, expert horsemanship and unwavering belief in a mare whose journey to the winner’s circle has been anything but straightforward.

After overcoming multiple setbacks throughout her early career, Ready To Rush is now emerging as one of the most exciting mares in country and provincial racing, with trainer Matthew Dale now considering ambitious spring targets, including the $2 million Kosciuszko.

A Victory Worth Waiting For

Royal Randwick has long been the proving ground for Australia’s best racehorses.

Every Saturday, talented country, provincial and metropolitan gallopers arrive hoping to announce themselves on the big stage. Very few do it with the authority shown by Ready To Rush.

Settling beautifully under an outstanding ride from Rachel King, the mare travelled comfortably before needing to weave through traffic approaching the home turn. When King asked for her effort, Ready To Rush responded exactly like quality horses do.

She accelerated into a narrow gap, lengthened powerfully and fought all the way to the winning post, holding off her challengers to score an impressive victory.

It wasn’t simply the margin that impressed—it was her professionalism, courage and determination.

Rachel King summed the mare up perfectly after the race, noting that every time she asked Ready To Rush for more, the mare continued to find another gear.

A Story of Patience and Perseverance

The result was especially satisfying because the road to Randwick had been anything but easy.

Ready To Rush has overcome significant injury setbacks during her young career, including three knee surgeries, with there being genuine uncertainty at one stage about whether she would ever return to the racetrack. Many horses never make it back after such challenges.

Trainer Matthew Dale, however, never lost faith.

Nor did her ownership group.

Kurrinda Bloodstock Syndications remained committed to giving the mare every opportunity to fulfil the ability she had shown from an early age, allowing her the time and care needed to recover properly.

Following Saturday’s victory, Dale praised the patience of the ownership group and credited the careful management that had allowed the mare to return stronger than ever.

Purchased With Purpose

Ready To Rush was purchased by Kurrinda Bloodstock because she possessed many of the qualities the team searches for in a future racehorse.

Athletic, well-balanced and with an outstanding attitude, she immediately appealed as a filly capable of developing into a genuine Saturday-class performer.

Being by Better Than Ready from the I Am Invincible mare Goldie River, she combined two bloodlines renowned for producing speed, toughness and consistency.

Those attributes have become increasingly evident every time she has stepped onto the racetrack.

Her career record now speaks for itself:

  • 4 starts
  • 3 wins
  • 1 second
  • Outstanding strike rate
  • Saturday metropolitan winner
  • Potential Kosciuszko contender

For any young mare, that is an exceptional beginning.

Matthew Dale’s Patient Approach

One of the biggest reasons behind Ready To Rush’s success has been the measured approach adopted by trainer Matthew Dale.

Rather than rushing her back after injury, every decision was made with her long-term future in mind.

Dale has explained that Ready To Rush is trained primarily from his farm outside Goulburn, where the quieter environment and sand track help keep her comfortable and sound. That individualised program has clearly paid dividends, allowing the mare to return stronger and continue improving with every run.

Bigger Targets Beckon

The Randwick victory has understandably sparked conversation about what comes next.

Before Saturday, The Kosciuszko wasn’t firmly in the stable’s plans. After such an impressive performance, however, Matthew Dale acknowledged that the lucrative feature is now very much under consideration.

It’s an exciting prospect for everyone involved.

The Kosciuszko has become one of the biggest races on the Australian racing calendar, showcasing the best country-trained horses in New South Wales. For a mare that has overcome so much adversity simply to return to racing, earning a place in that field would be a remarkable achievement in itself.

Given the way she attacked the line at Randwick, there is every reason to believe her best racing is still ahead of her.

A Proud Moment for Kurrinda Bloodstock

For Kurrinda Bloodstock Syndications, Ready To Rush perfectly reflects the philosophy on which the business has been built.

Finding quality young horses.

Partnering them with proven trainers.

Giving them every opportunity to develop at their own pace.

Creating unforgettable ownership experiences.

Saturday’s Randwick victory wasn’t simply another winner.

It was the culmination of years of belief, patience and teamwork.

Every owner who stood in the mounting yard or watched from afar shared in a moment that will long be remembered.

Those are the experiences that make racehorse ownership so special.

The Journey Is Only Beginning

While the Randwick victory was undoubtedly a career highlight, it may prove to be only the beginning.

Ready To Rush is still a lightly raced mare with enormous upside. She continues to improve physically and mentally, and with every start she gains valuable experience against stronger opposition.

If she remains healthy, there is every reason to believe she can continue climbing through the grades and compete in even bigger races throughout the spring.

From a promising yearling purchase to a Saturday metropolitan winner at Royal Randwick, Ready To Rush has already exceeded many expectations. Yet, judging by her determination, her attitude and the confidence now shared by her connections, her story is far from complete.

For Kurrinda Bloodstock Syndications, Matthew Dale and every owner involved, the dream has become even bigger.

After Saturday’s breakthrough performance, Ready To Rush is no longer simply a talented young mare.

She is a mare with the ability—and now the opportunity—to chase some of Australian racing’s biggest prizes

Get Involved with Kurrinda Bloodstock Syndications In 2026

Racehorse ownership has long captured the imagination of racing fans, evoking images of thrilling finishes, colourful silks, and the pride of watching “your horse” succeed on the big stage. Yet for many, the perceived barriers to ownership — cost, complexity, and risk — can make the dream seem out of reach.

Kurrinda Bloodstock Syndications changes that equation by offering an accessible, professional, and rewarding pathway into the world of thoroughbred ownership.

For nearly five decades, Kurrinda Bloodstock has been a leader in Australian horse racing, offering exceptional opportunities to own and race elite thoroughbreds.

Whether you’re looking to buy a racehorse share, invest in a race horse syndicate, or browse our race horses for sale, we make the journey into racehorse ownership seamless and rewarding.

As one of Australia’s most trusted names in racing syndicates, we provide exclusive access to thoroughbred horses for sale, expert trainers, and an ownership experience that brings you closer to the action than ever before.

At its core, Kurrinda provides a structured syndication platform that allows individuals to purchase a share in quality bloodstock without the burden of sole ownership.

This model reduces financial exposure, spreads ongoing costs across a group of committed owners, and ensures that each share comes with expert management — making racehorse ownership both attainable and enjoyable for a wider audience.

Demystifying Ownership Through Expertise

One of Kurrinda’s greatest strengths lies in its professional approach to horse selection and management. Rather than leaving key decisions to chance, Kurrinda combines industry knowledge with rigorous analysis to source bloodstock that shows physical potential, strong pedigrees, and promising athletic traits.

We are one of the only Syndicators that owns and operates their own spelling farm where all of the horses are agisted. We have complete control over our horses’ nutritional requirements and their preparation from the paddock to the track – this sets us apart and the results speak for themselves.

Each yearling, ready-to-race horse, or developing runner is carefully evaluated by bloodstock experts who understand the factors that influence both racing performance and long-term value.

Once a horse is acquired, Kurrinda takes on the administrative load: trainer selection, veterinary coordination, insurance arrangements, and race planning.

Owners receive regular updates and insights, meaning they can stay connected with their horse’s journey without being bogged down by day-to-day logistics. For many, this professional stewardship is the difference between ownership feeling like a burden and becoming an ongoing source of excitement and pride.

Shared Risk, Shared Reward

Traditional horse ownership involves significant upfront costs and ongoing financial responsibilities. By syndicating horses into smaller ownership shares, Kurrinda dramatically lowers the entry point.

Owners participate proportionately in purchase costs and ongoing expenses like training fees, agistment, and transport — but they also share in the thrill of success.

When a horse earns prize money or achieves notable results, owners receive their share of the rewards, enhancing the ownership experience.

This shared model also fosters a sense of community among syndicate members. Whether attending race days together, celebrating placings, or following training progress, syndicate owners often form lasting connections with fellow enthusiasts who share their passion.

Getting involved with Kurrinda Bloodstock Syndications is not just about financial participation — it’s about engagement with the sport.
