Horse Trainer

Cameron Crockett

Cameron Crockett has quickly made a name for himself across the industry as an enthusiastic, hardworking trainer whose success on the track speaks for itself. At Kurrinda Bloodstock, we are delighted to partner with Cameron. His expert horsemanship, empathy and responsiveness continue to provide excellent results.

Despite his youth, Cameron’s training methods are uncomplicated, and some could consider his approach “old school”. Cameron works to develop each horse’s natural talents and abilities by taking a hands-on approach. He develops and retrains horses with the patience and determination of a seasoned trainer.

Cameron has grown up learning all aspects of the business. Before obtaining his trainer’s license in June 2011, he worked and rode for his father, renowned horse-breaker and trainer Max Crockett. In addition, Cameron gained valuable experience as the main breaker at the world-class thoroughbred horse stud at Mudgee, Gooree Park.

Cameron believes his success as a trainer is derived from his hands-on approach, an ability to read a horse’s demeanour and temperament and then translate that into a fit and healthy track performance – rather than simply relying on a stopwatch. He aims to recognise every horse’s inherent abilities and differences. With this insight, he produces elite athletes who turn up at the races sound and are willing to perform at their optimum level.

Cameron is focused on ensuring every horse in the stable receives exemplary care. With a personalised training style, he trains each horse individually with a focus on their developmental requirements. This focused approach ensures a commitment to each horse and owner. Cameron is passionate about each thoroughbred he trains and enjoys sharing the success with all involved. At Kurrinda Bloodstock, we believe results and attention to detail are essential in racing, but so too is the passion and enjoyment of working with these magnificent Thoroughbreds. Cameron brings that same enthusiasm and delight to our stables.

Cameron’s team approach ensures he attracts and retains the best possible horse people. He recognises that teamwork and sharing in the success with all involved – staff and owners alike – is what makes for a winning combination.

Successful racing businesses like KBloodstock grow from a community of like-minded individuals working together to make a difference. With a commitment to implementing best-practice racehorse training techniques, individualised hands-on horse training and dedicated systems for every thoroughbred, Cameron is an integral part of the Kbloodstock team.

Scott Singleton

Scott Singleton hails from an enviable racing background, gaining his License to Train at just 20. From riding trackwork at 14 years of age to becoming a fully-fledged jockey, he has travelled internationally, absorbing the knowledge of many successful trainers. Scott’s background also includes the privilege of working for the legendary Bart Cummings. With such an enviable history in the industry, Scott is down-to-earth, well-respected, and just as passionate about racehorses as he was when he was a boy!

With a foundation of knowledge gained from his mentors, Scott firmly believes in developing a closeness with the thoroughbred and taking a hands-on approach when it comes to training. Scott takes on board feedback to make informed decisions about where and how each horse is performing. His reputation at correctly placing his horses on track for the best possible results is what sets him apart.

Scott’s intuition and ability to read his horses provide the foundations for success. He takes the time to receive and analyse feedback, monitoring how the horses are progressing throughout each stage of their preparations, making changes on an individual basis to ensure a tailored approach to each thoroughbred. Nothing is left to chance. Scott is a dedicated professional, and his love of horses and their welfare take priority at all stages of their training.

Scott has an astute reputation across the industry and is well respected and regarded. His recent purchase of idyllic horse property in Scone has provided access to new South Wales country racing tracks from Dubbo to Muswellbrook and Tamworth.

Kurrinda Bloodstock has welcomed Scott to the team, where his wealth of experience and dedication to excellence in training is second to none. In addition, Scott’s expertise allows KBoodstock Syndicates access to yet another champion training provider.

A commitment to the overall health, welfare and wellbeing of our racehorses is a priority for our team. Sharing a common set of values with our trainers ensures the continuation of success for each of our syndicate owners.

Horse Trainer

Matthew Dale

Matthew Dale is a highly respected and well-known horse trainer with training operations based in Canberra. Matthew’s approach is all about attention to detail. Working with some leading stables, such as those of high profile trainer Gai Waterhouse and John O’Shea, Matthew gained his own Licence during the 2002/03 season.

Matthew has set up successful operations in the ACT with a boutique stable of around 30 horses at his Canberra property and up to 10 horses at Moruya. He bases his training on the theory that adequate attention should afford every horse every chance to fulfil its potential. Providing for the well-being and overall health of each horse is paramount to Matthew’s successful track record. Providing the opportunity for thoroughbreds to be fit, healthy and active should mean that a sound horse is a fast horse in Matthew’s book.

Together with Kurrinda Bloodstock and our Syndicate owners, Matthew Dale is an integral part of the team. Matthew consistently trains at a high winning percentage, keeping his attention to detail firmly cemented on what will be the best outcome for the horse and all involved in the journey.
